Alan Westwood needs no introduction to the many country music fans in the U.K. In a career spanning over 35 years, Alan, both solo and with his band, has appeared at almost every venue in the country.Greb StoneHe began his career in the late 50s in Rock 'n' Roll and was priviledged to appear on the same bill as many of the all-time greats including Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Bill Haley and Gene Pitney to name a few.
Since moving into country, Alan has forged a good career and has earned a good reputation for entertainment, quality and reliability, and always works hard for and with his audience. Alan has also performed in Nashville in the famed 'Tootsie's' and has appeared on the ledgendary 'Nashville Network@.
Alan is a prolific songwriter with over 20 songs published, and his biggest hit 'The South Will Rise Again' has become an anthem for thousands of British western fans. He has also written for Johnny Cash and June Carter - 'Lady Dressed In Black', and for Bobby Bare, and recently Pam Tillis. Alan has recently been seen in a promotional video for Reebok and has been offered a supporting role in a forthcoming war film, due to start production in mid 1997.
Alan is equally at home in either a dance or concert venue and with his strong rich voice and genial manner always gives a good evening's entertainment.
