I have fixed the debug problem.

Luckily I had a copy of the forum database that I used for the upgrade test.
I just copied the faulty table from there and all seems well.

NEW FORUM UPDATE...

The tests are going well so it won't be long before I do the upgrade.

However, before I do the upgrade, I have decided to upgrade the server.

The last server upgrade was the operating system.
This time it will be that hardware.
i.e. the computer itself.

This will all take place at the same time.

More later...

Just to keep you up to date...

I have now built the new server and I am ready to move the hard drives from the old server in to the new server.

I will probably do this at midnight, in the next couple for days.

When I am satisfied that everything is working OK I will upgrade the forum from phpbb2 to phpbb3.
This is going to take some time, so I will place a full page notice at the front of the forum.
From that time on, any postings will be lost on the new forum. But I will make that clear at the time.

Tonight's the night...

I am going to turn off the forum at about midnight tonight in order to perform the upgrade.
The upgrade will take a few hours so I am hoping that it will be complete by Thursday morning.

When the upgrade is complete the name of the forum will be changed to 'community'.

I think that it sounds better and hopefully will give the feeling of a 'close community'.

Someone on here (I forget who) once told me that an online community is a real community too. Reckon they're right.

Looking Good.

Edit: experimenting with the headers I see. Yeah, the flag does tend to squash the banner too much. Maybe it would be better not to have a flag in the header to leave room for a link to the noticeboard. We still got the flag icon preceding the URL. We gonna get the same header on all three preferances?

Hi lo&m...

I've just finished for tonight...

I think that subsilver2 is the theme to follow.
I am doing prosilver at the moment, and after something like 4 hours I seem to be making progress.

When this is finished, I will start on rock'n roll.

Which theme is your preference ???

Maybe PMs might be the way to discuss themes etc...

Cheers,
