On behalf of the band, can I thank Lynne and Trevor for once again putting this event together and the invite to come and play. As always, the hospitality we received was excellent, and something other promoters could, and should learn from.

We enjoyed the afternoon and delighted with the reception we received form a most knowledgeable and appreciative audience. Balancing our original material with Gary Perkins' set was a stroke of genius as it gave everyone something to enjoy, so well done guys for that.

Delighted to once again have the chance for a face to face with Brian Ahern who's words of wisdom and experience, I willingly take on board.

I am sure the evening session was excellent as Trev and Lynne had secured another two excellent live bands.

Thanking one and all for another triumph in the quest to promote original and quality live music.

Good thoughts to all

Loneshark. It was nice to meet up with you again and have a friendly pint.

Its always rewarding to put the world to rights.

Yes it was a very enjoyable day out and all of the bands complimented the occasion splendidly as did Malc Allen and his team on sound.

Well done to Trev and Lynne plus their team for creating and organising this event.

Thanks for your latest album Brian it is indeed a fine testament to your craft and skills as a singer songwriter and producer.

Managed to do a fair share of sampling the brew and enjoying the company of friends too! 8)

Thanks for the good words Brian & Brian. Glad you enjoyed yourselves - we certainly did.
But with 4 brilliant bands - Brian, Gary, Crown Top Kings and Cross Country - playing some of the best sets I've heard for a while, how could you not enjoy yourselves.

The comments from everyone during and after the show made it all worthwhile.
Again we had visitors travelling from Cumbria, Newcastle, Leicester, Wolverhampton.

After seeming like an assault course for the last few months (jumping through hoops, walking tightropes , negotiating the many obstacles, etc.) it was a good feeling to see it actually happen.
Although it was a great success musically, as I announced at the end of the night, it's unlikely to be repeated, as we don't have the resources to continue. The intention in 2008 was to put on a one-day show of fully live bands, based around original or lesser played music by bands who didn't play all of the done to death material. Over 3 events we have done that.

So may I thank all of those who have supported us - the bands, sound crews, the audience, local radio, magazines and papers, our family and other helpers - and helped us to make it happen. Especially those who have gone that extra distance when things became tough for us (they know who they are).

If we can find a way to continue, it will be good, but in any event, we have some good memories.

And we will continue at Chew Valley to support quality live bands.

Trev and Lynne
You have done a great job promoting British Country Music. Thanks for all your efforts with the CBCM festivals. I just hope that you continue to promote the bands who perform original material. It is an uphill struggle and as I have announced on other threads, I am not looking for work on the circuit beyond those places (like Chew Valley and a handful of others) where there is an appreciation of original music.
See you on the 13th!

Trev & Lynne;
Take comfort in what you have already achieved with your CBCM Festivals.
You originally planned one and this gave inspiration for another two.

This is remarkable especially when it was always going to be a financial gamble to sell what others can only dream about.

Remember that you was selling to the public a concept in entertainment based on self belief and pride, rather than a proven idea. The gamble paid off in many ways, mainly by allowing the fans an outlet to support and show their gratitude for originality and belief.

Well done and thank you for paving the way forward to what might prove to be a better future for Original British Country Music.

Thanks Brian & Brian Mark & Pat
Just to say we have had a ball over the past three yrs and are proud of of the acts that have supported us and also the fantastic sound team's we have had, Settlers and MT Allan.
We will as ever as much as we can continue to support the bands that are playing their own music and the lesser known songs at the club.
Politics however have got in the way of the event which is a shame and we feel this is the time to end on a high.
We would love to continue but after this year with the problems we faced ie venue and such we feel we can't contine at the present time.
but thanks again to all that have supported us band audience family , mags ect you have been fab.
