World Cup Song

Postby livewire » Tue May 27, 2014 9:42 pm

So its by a colab from Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez and it sounds like it will be a World Cup Song Flop?
This will have viewers reaching for MUTE on their remotes

Its called - FIFA's "We Are One (Ole Ola)

Think Miley Cyrus and Jo Lo might be promoting this on Babestation. Wonder if Pitbull knows about the 1966 song World Cup Willie

FIFA's billion dollar revenue comes from selling TV rights and marketing. Merchandising, including an "official album" is an important resource of their marketing. Expect to hear these tracks over the opening credits of televised matches. Plus shorter snippets in the going-into advert-breaks links.
So can you imagine Pitbull (?) and Lopez' track accompanying World Cup matches here? I hope not. It would probably work for American tv but I would hope there are other tracks on the album more suited to us. Something samba oriented perhaps.

More likely that flippin' "3 Lions" thing again or something unimaginative like Robbie Williams!

Tradition, isn't it? :D Although Three Lions is a good song; it just suffered from over-use. Usually though, when musicians write an "Official World Cup song" they have to bear in mind that the audience includes children and once-every-four-years football supporters so they end up with something embarrasingly bland. The real creativity in football songs are the fans chants. They can be amusing, witty and can contain NSFW elements. This one's ok though.
