Think we might need another clue here.

Indeed! Formerly married to Johnny cash's daughter Cindy Cash, currently husband of Opry legend Connie Smith.
marty, dressed in a suite Manual had made for him asked manuel how he looked. "You look like Johnny Cash", the taylor replied "after taxes"

Correct Spacey. If I recall it right, when Queen were starting out Mercury gave an interview to NME in which he said something to the effect that his aim was, "to bring ballet to the masses." The NME seized on it and portrayed him as a pretentious fool. A bit harsh imo, even if that was his aim it's a legitimate one and in keeping with his subsequent career. Be that as it may, the quote followed him round for years afterward.

As with lo&m's last clue - you either know this one or you don't - no clues in the quoted text other than possibly it sounds like a 'deep thinker'. CM genre.

"I don't think you can ever do your best. Doing your best is a process of trying to do your best"
Waylon Jennings.

Which unassuming country singer said this: "Ten years ago I was driving a forklift at the Kmart warehouse and nobody was screaming at me then. I guess it's the magic of show business."
