Anybody use one of these (it's a loop pedal)? I'm not really the kind of bass player that indulges in excessive self-abuse, but I saw someone using one on Youtube (see below) and it looked like it might make the long winter evenings fly by...

Well, I went and bought one secondhand on eBay. I'll let you know how it works out. If I can get the hang of it I might even put a self-indulgent clip or two on Youtube... :)

Fair enough but anything that remotely resembles 1960's Roger Waters and you're out !!

None that would help a guitarist John. Sorry mate. Don't use it for playing guitar through. Don't want to upset anyone, but with apologies to the musos, I use it instead of a minidisc player for my backing tracks. I get 99 tracks on it. Lot lighter and less bother than a minidisc or cd deck. My mate in Spain has one as well, uses it on stage to record a loop which he then uses as a backing track for his pedal steel. He swears by it. If you add a 2Gb card, you get over 6 hours of playing time on 99 patches.
