The Bob Harris Country show tomorrow night (Thurs 27th October) is described as a 1950s special. Should be interesting!

Heard it in the truck and have to admit was one of the better shows he's done. Pure country throughout. Forgot how good Ray Price can sound on the radio.

Yep, pretty good show. Maybe Bob should host a Fifties Country show at 7 followed by a Contemporary country show at 8 presented by whoever?

Not sure though if Bob Harris knows what contempary country sounds like. He does seem to concentrate more on Americana lately.

Agree. A pity, because I quite like his presentation style
Anyone recall Richard Wooton? He hosted a country music show on GLR wack in the late eighties or early nineties. Really on the ball & a good range of new stuff. I believe he is PR guy in Nashville these days
I won quite a few CDs on his show back in the day & got free tickets from him for a promotional thing for Vince Gill at the Jazz Cafe. One free drink too!! I did think the drinks would be free al;l evening but on returning to the bar I had to pay for any further drinks!!

a coincidence? I did see Richard Wootton's name this week ... among the list of people thanked on Steve Earle' latest album, I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive.
Country is a state of mind, not a state of America.

Interesting. Last time I heard his name was when Bob Harris & Nick Wheelbarrow were doing the live CMA broadcast on Radio 2. They had a query, & Richard wooton came up with gthe answer
He used to live in the SW London burbs, now apparently he lives in Nashville!!

Toby Keith tweeted that he had done a session for Bob Harris, unsure if it was broadcast last night or it will be in the forthcoming weeks.

I agree. I thought he was excelent, & he is a country fan. Radio 2 should let him host a Copuntry Show regularly & Bob could stick to Americana.
I'll be out tonight, but I will be catching this on listen again

Good show again last night, nice mix of stuff, but I wish when there was a session on that they played more music and talked less .....
