Postby lo&m » Sun Mar 30, 2014 1:12 pm

Just aimlessly surfing around and I found this pic in Hank Jr's fb accy.

Two thoughts ...
Going by the hair colours, I make this early to mid '80s. Maybe at Waylon and Jessi's wedding? It'd explain why he is dressed formally.
Get a load of Willie's goggles! :D

None of those worked for me. But I think I know the photo you mention- Willie in goggles strikes a chord! It was in a booklet of photos of country stars I bought when I was in Nashville in about 1989

Not country music although France is a country. :) I just thought it was a cute pic of two iconic figures playing guitars together back when they were both young and beautiful.

Backing Tracks

Postby Smudger » Fri Oct 17, 2014 7:30 pm

You've probably seen this one before but it's worth another watch - Alan Jackson was told at the 1994 ACM Awards that he had to sing to a pre-recorded backing track, so this is what he told his drummer to do.....................

Subtle and understated yet making his point. I like it. I guess the classic example of a band sabotaging a lip-sync is still Rod Stewart and the Faces gloriously shambolic dismantling of Maggie May on TOTP. Surely everyone's seen it?

Shame Moshe's on his hols, he's going to miss this pic of Taylor Swift writing her latest song. *note the pencil*
