Help with naming a country song

Postby Honkytonkblues » Wed Aug 20, 2014 12:27 pm

Hi all,

I am looking help to name a song. It may be an original or a cover of someone else's song. It was recorded by Kelvin Henderson (UK) in the late 1970s and is played at the end of the film "the roadracers" about motorcycle racers from the northern ireland countryside. I have included a link to the song posted on youtube.

The lyrics are;
"Feels like we've been on the road
a hundred years or more
don't get me wrong, i'm not complainin'
sometimes we get tired and sometimes we get wired
and sometimes we get kinda lonesome too,
But today, for just a moment, you were the idol, of the whole damn land.

If anyone knows what the song is and if someone originally wrote it I would love to know!!!

cheers,

HonkyTonk

IMDb doesn't even have a record of the film.
Country is a state of mind, not a state of America.

Found this for those who have never hear of it.

Other songs include wanted man, stand by your man, long-haired country boy and Texas when I die. It's the one played at the closing credits has me stumped :?

Perhaps it was an original song written by Kelvin Henderson, any fans/friends of Kelvin or his big country band able to comment?

Thanks.
