March 1st - Keep it Cash, Robin 2, Bilston

Postby KentuckyHolly » Fri Feb 28, 2014 11:16 am

Kentucky Holly is honoured to be singing a song tomorrow evening with the voice of Johnny Cash, Mr. Dave Burnham. If your life like mine has been touched by the legend himself you may want to head on down to the Robin 2 in Bilston for a special show by the famous tribute band Keep It Cash. It's going to be a really great night!

You Tube advert for the show is linked here

"What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away in the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt"

Any other night and I would be along to this, but up in Manchester tonight.

The advert for this show says "Tribute by Keep It Cash as used for the film Walk the Line."
I thought the actors did all the singing for the movie - what's the connection with the tribute band, anybody know?

By the look of it they played at the launch of Walk the Line.

Ah OK - slightly misleading flyer, but I suppose it's true nonetheless.........

Yes, it was the launch they're referring to, not singing in the film. The Bilston gig was great by the way. I'll be joining them again in Derby & Crewe in the coming months. They had a full house at Beverly Minster just this weekend...it looked amazing, but I imagine the acoustics were troublesome. Wish I could have been there.

The Whitby gig is a long way off yet but I'll be there.

Scratch that, I didn't realise Whitby was within decent driving distance of Hull where the guys are from when I posted this. They've had a June covering gigs 'local' to them up there for a long while now and she'll be doing Whitby. I will amend my post to reflect this. It's certain to be a good show though. I'm doing the Flower Pot in Derby with them next Saturday the 19th.
