For those who've never tried it, Americana is a great weekend, and a real -eye-opener regarding the different ways the music on the main/country stage and the Alpha/rock'n'roll stage is received. In summary, main stage, seated, respectful enthusiasm, Alpha stage , standing/dancing, wild enthusiasm!

My recent experience of most of these acts (and friendship with the excellent Truly Lover Trio) suggests to me that this will be another belter of an event. I believe that there are now 64 acts of various genres booked, I just hope that Chris Jackson signs a deal with the Big Guy to ward off the 'biblical' storm that we experienced on the friday in 2011!

Didn't dampen our spirits though.

English summertime, don't you just love it?

And God bless Ain't Skynyrd, they Southern-boogied right through it. How they avoided electrocution I'll never know

been wondering about attending this festival for a while now. My wife and I had talked about going last year but with one thing and another, we didnt make it. Saw the ad in the latest Country Music News and rekindled my interest. Judging by the positive views expressed here, Im guessing its well worth a visit? :)

It is indeed, especially if you like big American cars. It's as much a car/bike/RV show as a music fest. Although with 4 or 5 stages you won't ever be short of music. Why not take a day trip on Sat or Sun for a recce.

Reckon thats the plan for this years Festival....dont live too far from Newark, so probably make a day of it on the Saturday or Sunday to have a nose round. I like the fact it seems to cover quite a few styles of music and other things as well (definitely like the old American Cars), and all in all sounds like an ideal way to spend a weekend :D
