Well, finally watched. Can't see what all the fuss is about. Okay, so the vocal's not perfect but I seen many that were much worse! I would far rather have a less than perfect live vocal than to know someone's been miming (take a bow Dolly!!)

My complaint would this clip is that it's boring ..... dull songs and for all the fuss made about Stevie Nicks - yawn!! Fleetwood Mac?? Fleetwood Yawn!!

THIS is what Fleetwood Mac should sound like:

With Respect Kev...

I think you're missing the point here - in 2 ways.

Firstly - IF it wasn´t for ALL the frickin' Fuss made about Ms. Swafft - as for being - the Future (?¿) of Country / the Biggest Artiste outside of well - Mars etc FROM some people, espec. in the Media and her Own Marketing Division - last estimated as a small army of some 750 staffers....who would frankly be More Gainfully employed as Rescue workers in Haiti....
Perhaps - this very Ordinary performance - ALONG with Many Other High Profile - Low Critical Acclaim perfs, like at Wembley a few months back, and most Notoriously - at the last C.M.A. Awards - STILL SOO EMBARRASSING - it has marred my enjoyment of that Entire show..

MAYBE THE EXPECTATION WOULDN'T BE SO FRICKIN HIGH ??¿?

Secondly - PLEASE - if you're gonna talk about Fleetwood Mac in this strange context - then PLEASE - show some Respect - for one of the Greatest Bands of the last 40 years !!
Going back to the late 60's and the 1st Incarnation of the World's Biggest Rock Bands - as the original Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac - the Blues Band which crossed-over, and showed that there was a Life outside John Mayall's Bluebreakers for ex and sacked former band members !!

And the Rest - is, of course - HISTORY !
Cool

I agree with you on at least one and a half counts there, kev. One, Peter Green era was the real Fleetwood Mac. I did like some of their later stuff, but by then they were just a smooth pop-rock band. Peter Green was the man. A shame what happened with him. I did see him during his come back. Not bad, but a shadow of what he could do in his prime.
As to the Taylor Swift performance, it certainly was not particuarly bad. I think those who wanted to take a swipe at her did themselves out of a shot by hyping about how bad it was.
One clicked on expecting to see a car crash, & of course it is nothing of the sort.
The most remarkable thing about that clip was noticing how tall Taylor is.

Again Moshe - without wanting to repeat myself again - YES - Peter Green's Original band were GREAT - BUT things change and Evolve.
Which - given that Peter named the band after the rock-solid rhytmn section of Fleetwood and McVie - the sucessive bands FULLY DESERVE the name - and the Success which accompanied it - after YEARS OF HARD WORK, SET-BACKS AND TOIL etc !!!

I LOVE MUCH of the Post- Buckingham Nicks F. Mac albums - Veritable Soft - Rock Classix !!

It DOESN'T mean that this work is IN ANY WAY ' INFERIOR ' !!

Just Different !! Smile

Again, my opinion. You seem to forget that we all have our own opinions on things .... and putting, "with respect", at the start of a message doesn't forgive you for then slating someone else's opinion!

What really ticks me off about all this is that she quite plainly just can't sing !!.
The records are 'Autotuned' to death and 'live' well, that was just plain embarrassing !! ...... is it so wrong of me to expect someone so lauded by all, selling a hangars worth of product and winning Grammy awards to at least be able to sing ? ?

Poor old Stevie Nicks has been through throat surgery and still managed to re-learn how to sing but it seems that's no longer necessary, shame really.

One more note on the subject;

I note it's the same mob who were previously against Carrie Underwood who've now moved on to attacking Taylor.....

Anybody else think that Taylor Swift is the next Sarah Jory ?

Into Country music since childhood - check
Started performing at a very early age - check
Loved by a great many fans - check
Respected by her peers for her musical accomplishments* - check
Has ambitions of being a top Country star -check
Works incredibly hard and gives it her best shot - check
Lacks the vocal chops to realise said ambition - check

*Sarah's steel guitar playing and Taylor's songwriting

David,

Get one thing straight before you run off at the mouth (or fingers in this instance), it was me who started this topic because I found it funny what Kelly had said and I agree with John that I dont think Taylor's a good singer at all. I dont recall I ever said anything about Carrie Underwood? please find the topic where I personally mentioned Carry

I also think there's a number of Female British Country Singers who could run circles around TS but sadly were in the UK so they wouldnt get the backing like people in the USA.

Maybe it's just the norm now with endless 'Talent' (?) shows and reality TV and this insatiable wish of morons to be 'Celeb's that we have finally 'dumbed down' to this level where folk really don't need any talent to be considered 'stars' by their unswerving fans.

David I realise how much of a TS fan you are and I'm not flaming you or other TS fans, it's just that performance was awful and however much of a fan you are surely you can see that too ?
