Welcome

Jean Berry Thankyou for visiting my Country Music site.

I was born in Warrington which was then Lancashire, and was introduced to music at an early age by way of learning to play the piano. My main talent was mainly artistic which I thank my father for.

In the early 60's I was awarded a place at Warrington Art College whilst still at school. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I was unable to continue my studies, but have over the years been able to use my artistic talents in numerous area's including designing knitwear and when time allowed I enjoy a variety of crafts and occasionally relaxing working on watercolors or sketching .

Also at school my great passion was in writing compositions, essays and poetry which must have driven my teachers to distraction as although my spelling was not my greatest strength I would put a composition together consisting of some 20 foolscap pages. This had all been put aside due to my work in accounting, office management and being a company secretary, also I moved around the country from Cornwall, London, Nottingham and finally settling in Preston, Lancashire in 1979.

The early years with Jean at the piano and her cousins as her audience

In more recent years being involved with the music industry has awakened many of the quality's from the past. Taking a short course at college for Desk Top Publishing I have been able to use my artistic skills in design. Helping a country artist by the name of Ron Waters and Kingfisher Promotions. It has involved promotional and studio work, designing posters, advertising copy and covers for albums both for Ron and other artistes, both professionals and amateur. Although I do not do any of the recording of artistes' I do the duplicating and I am a supplier of Country and Line Dance backing tracks. During this time I have also written a few reports which have been published in a number of magazines covering Country Music. I was approached to cover the reporting of an Indian Wedding that was to take place at The Ranch House Country and Western Club in Preston and so have enjoyed a change in direction down a new country road.

I try to add a bit of interest into the reports rather than just a list of tracks played by artistes and hope that readers will enjoy my style of reporting both at country & western events and country music nights.

I hope you enjoy my site. Please let me know what you think and let me know if you would like other links added to it.

If you would like me to visit your own Country Music Club, and write a review, please let me know and I will do my best to oblige.
